Lolene Lawrence, First Ever Female Chairperson of the WPNBBU with her predecessor Hoosain Bester

For the first time in its 70 year history the Western Province Natural Bodybuilding Union (WPNBBU) is under the leadership of a woman. Lolene Lawrence is also the youngest chairperson ever to head up the WPNBBU.

Lolene is no newcomer to the administration of Natural Body Building. She has for a number of years been the Chief Judge of the WP Union ensuring that provincial competitions are run to the highest international standards.
Lolene has also for a year served as the Interim Chairperson of the WPNBBU in 2020.

The family of the legendary actress Shaleen Surtie Richards has announced arrangements for her funeral through their official spokesperson Alistair Izobell.

The family of Shaleen Surtie Richards has this morning sadly confirmed the news of her passing.
The 66 year old actress born on 7 May 1955 was well-known and loved for her role as Nenna aka Ester Willemse on the long-running soapie eGoli.
It was however playing Fiela Komoetie in the 1988 film adaptation of the Dalene Mathee Afrikaans novel Fiela se Kind that the Legendary Actress first rose to fame.

 

A veteran of a long list of Films, TV Series and Stage Productions and receiving numerous awards along the the way, Shaleen Surtie Richards was most recently cast in the role of the amusingly annoying but sweet grandmother in the Quanita Adams film SWIRL about 'Coloured women and their hair'.
 
 
 
As can be seen in tributes on social media, Shaleen Surtie Richards has certainly been an inspiration to many of the generation of actors who followed in her footsteps.
 
 
Shaleen was clearly adored by many across different generations and the South African Entertainment Landscape will forever continue to be influenced by the sheer passion she has put into ensuring the credibility of each and every role she has ever played.
Our sincerest condolences to the family, friends, colleagues and the fans of this wonderful star.

For the First Time Ever South Africa will have two entrants in Artistic Gymnastics competing at an Olympic Games. The pair will be competing at this year's Tokyo Olympics after Naveen Daries qualified for the Games, which is scheduled from 23 July to 8 August.
 
Naveen ensured her qualification at the 15th Individual African Gymnastics Championships in Cairo on Thursday and will join team-mate Caitlin Rooskrantz in Japan. Caitlin Rooskrantz had already in October 2019 qualified for the Olympics.
 
 
Gymnastics South Africa announced tthe exciting news in a Tweet saying:

Congratulations Naveen!
Team SA's Naveen Daries has snapped up a qualification spot for the Olympic Games! For the first time ever, we have two Women's Artistic Gymnasts qualify to go to the Olympics!

 
 
Naveen Celebrated in Style by having a photo taken of her performing a magnifficent gymnastics move in front of the Egyptian Pyramids.
Gymnastics South Africa weeted the photo saying: 

That feeling when you've qualified for the Tokyo Olympics!

South African and African gymnastics champion, Caitlin Rooskrantz had already in October 2019 booked her ticket to the 2020 Olympics!

Competing at the 2019 Artistic World Championships in Germany, Caitlin qualified for the 2020 Olympic Games by scoring 49.466 on all apparatus.
The 2020 Tokyo Olympics was eventually moved to 2021 due to the Global Covid 19 Pandemic.

Anyway, this person, Janice, is looking for a 'Muhammed'. I tell her she has the wrong number. But now, as I'm about to drop the call, this Janice person says, 'I know it's you Muhammed. Stop acting and give me my money'.
