I must admit, I am not much of a writer but just feel I had to get this out. Festive season again, family , giving and loving time. I should be happy yet I feel incomplete.
I can almost hear you singing in the kitchen xmas morning, off tune but still like ectasy to my ear. Smelling the delicious feast you preparing for lunch. Calling my name eventhough you nagging…oh how I long for it now. Your soft, warm hands and gorgeously painted nails busy with the food, you look like the most carefree person in the world , but only to someone who doesn’t know. Your red locks cross over your face while you trying to hit the high note of a Barbra Striesand song, the same locks that turn into brittle dry bunch of hair in my hands later on.
To see the look on your face as we open presents, you knew this would be your last memory with/of us. the same look you gave me the night you closed your eyes for the last time. 14 Years and only now do I enjoy xmas but always think of you, but have to be strong don’t know how we coped without you all this time. This year we have a new addition to our little OHUNA. She has your eyes don’t know how though.
This year is better but you are missed and not just today, but yesterday, tomorrow and for eternity. We love you mom…To those who still have there parents treasure the moments you have and make them count.
