Suddenly, everybody wants to save Cape Town!
Politicians from far and wide have descended upon the Mother City, each convinced they are the chosen one to rescue us.
Cape Town’s Saviours Have Arrived
They’ve got the speeches, the promises, the slogans and the superhero complexes!
But here’s the million-rand question:
Are you here to save Cape Town, or are you here because Cape Town is the prize you’ve always wanted?
Because there’s a big difference between wanting to serve the people and wanting to rule over them.
Cape Town doesn’t need another messiah. It needs leaders who deliver!
Where They Come From Might Need Them More
Politicians from other provinces seem to have their hearts set on Cape Town. And [maybe] there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. Except that many of the places they come from are in far greater need of development, service delivery and political attention than Cape Town.
So why not go back to where they come from and fix what needs fixing there?
Interestingly, some of these very political circles have no problem telling Black people from the Eastern Cape to “go back to where they come from.”
So how now?

Cape Town’s Elections 2026 Show a Double Standard
Ordinary people must go back to their provinces, but politicians from other provinces can come to Cape Town looking for votes, positions and power?
If “go back to where you come from” is the argument, why doesn’t it apply to politicians too?
Or is Cape Town only open to outsiders when they arrive with political ambitions?
