PROFILE: Soundz Explicit

Soundz Explicit or S.Ex for short is an independent music production
and composition entity. It was formed in 2001 by Emmphive (Marvin
Cohen), Mr.$yd (Sydney Q du-Pont), El-Steezo (Lerumo Maisela) and
J-Namic (Jeremy Cohen). In 2002, S.Ex handled production duty for the
2003 release of the self-titled debut album “Crazy Lu” on Gallo
Records. That same year, the team was expanded with the addition of the
talented writer and rapper Dirty Ca$h (Jiyani Mbere) who also
contributed to the release.

2005 sees the re-emergence of Soundz Explicit on the music scene with
the release of the S.Ex Hold It Down Mixtape. This is an official
street album, made purely for street release and as an introduction to
the world of skills Soundz Explicit possess not only as the hottest
young producers and mc’s, but also as an independent business unit.
