Lauryn is a woman for whom nothing is permanent – not jobs, relationships or even living arrangement. Not only must she confront the choices she’s made, she also needs to contend with her changing body.

Rated 16SL, Late Bloomer casts Nicole Fortuin (Flatland, Indemnity, Alles Malan, Die Boekklub) as Lauryn and Danny Ross (Skemerdans, Desert Rose) as Darryn in the lead roles alongside the likes of SAFTA winner Denise Newman (Material, Shirley Adams), SAFTA nominee Monique Rockman (Gaia, Nommer 37, Suidooster), Fleur du Cap winner Bianca Flanders (Troukoors, Address Unknown) and comedian Kate Pinchuck (Tali’s Baby Diary).

Directed and executive produced by Amy Jephta (director of South African official Oscar submission Barakat and the Showmax noir series Skemerdans), the heartfelt Late Bloomer tells the story of Lauryn, the happy-go-lucky party girl in her mid-30s who is forced to grow up as her carefree life gets turned upside down when she suspects she may be pregnant after a one-night stand.
