Finally, as lockdown levels have been eased, the Virtual World of The Uncle Cal Xperience Meets Reality as Uncle Cal hosts a long-awaited Live Outside Broadcast at the Oude Molen Eco Village in Pinelands on 4 Dec from 2pm to 10pm. As is the custom with most Uncle Cal events, those attending will once again be part of something special to enhance the lives of the less fortunate.

Through Uncle Cal’s partnership with Band Aid SA, attendees will through a Toy Drive tied to this event be helping to bring some much needed Festive Season Joy to the many underprivileged children directly served by NGO’s and Community Organisations that Uncle Cal &Band Aid SA are working with.

The event ties in perfectly with the start of the festive season while we’ve all been yearning for entertainment outside the confines of our homes and; Oude Molen Eco Village offers the perfect setting.

Picture yourself in a vast back garden setting amidst clusters of trees that add to the aesthetic with the soulful music of The Uncle Cal Xperience creating a wonderful ambience.

In the lead up to the live broadcast, you’ll be entertained by a micro-ensemble of musicians and guest artists. Headlining that segment will be The Rascals Clan featuring Mickey Rorich on guitar, TJ Simon on percussion and vocals, and Alia on vocals with special guest August West on saxophone.

The HuisJol is basically a call to frustrated inhabitants to create a club atmosphere in their homes asa means of escapism from the current socio-economic issues that’s prevailing in the “new normal”.

Since it began the ‘HuisJol’ has always been about bringing people together in the Virtual Realm of Live Streaming at a time that we are required to stay apart. It has steadfastly developed a committed and growing following since the first broadcast in 2020 in the midst of hard lockdown.

Uncle Cal spreading some Festive Season Joy

Band Aid SA which was initially a social interaction initiative to serve as a means of providing financial medical support to musicians in need has since the effects of CoVid-19 Lockdown became apparent in early 2020 expanded its mandate.

Band Aid SA, of which the Uncle Cal brand is one of the custodians, operates as a NPC (Non-profit Company) which directs and regulates funding towards assisting NGO’s or charity organizations in its downstream. While the primary focus remains catering to the needs of the Arts & Culture sector it has since expanded to include sustaining Community Feeding Schemes as well as assisting organisations and initiatives that directly benefit less fortunate children.

The Uncle Cal Xperience is Guaranteed to Entertain You
Uncle Cal is renowned for hosting events that are of a high technical standard and which offer Excellent Entertainment Value, great crowd interaction, and a high level of security that is not intrusive on the crowd’s enjoyment. People from all over including expats on holiday in SA and tourists from abroad attended Uncle Cal’s last major outdoor event, The Matroosfontein Jazz Reunion in February 2020, before the whole world went into lockdown.
