The diverse and versatile singer, songwriter, actor and scriptwriter, Reggie Peace, aka Reginald Hufkie, is back with a brand new original track ahead of the new album he is working on.

Continually growing in popularity, the allround entertainer from Schauderville in Gqeberha, formerly known as Port Elizabeth, has been working in the entertainment industry since 2011 and has been part of several successful stage productions, short films, adverts, television shows and music groups.

As solo artist, he is best-known for songs like Frequency, Do It – Peacemaker, Hoekom?, Kos Op Die Tafel (KODT), All That Matters, Better, and Move. While still currently working on material for his upcoming album, he is also hard at work adding the finishing touches to Onvertelde Verhale, a talk show hosted by Reggie, which will be airing on Trots TV.
Reggie can also currenly be seen in the recurring TV role of Luke in the soapie Generations.

We spoke to Reggie about the growing trend we have noticed of there being a higher level of production quality in Afrikaans RnB, specifically from artists from our own communities, the likes of Whaden Johannes  and Jerome Rex, just to mention two out of a growing number.
Reggie says that it is perhaps a conscious evolution of artists who would like to do RnB with a worldclass quality feel and sound to it in their home language of Afrikaans, and that though they may not all be working together, nor have they collectivley decided on a "standard", there seems to be an unspoken consensus of what the Future Sound of Afrikaans RnB Music from Coloured artists will sound like.

"As for myself personally, I think that is important to show that particularly the much-maligned Coloured male also experiences and expresses Love and that Afrikaans Coloured artists can beautifully express their thoughts and feelings in quality RnB songs or Ballads, while doing it in their home language."

Of course Reggie's sound is not limited to RnB and Ballads, but on previous releases like Move, he has shown how well he can do with a retro-funk disco-pop sound and bring it across in a modern style.
"My love for writing and performing RnB has only recently become more apparent to me and coupling that with my love for retro-funk and retro-synth with a modern twist, I am also finding that more and more I'm growing to love writing Afrikaans music in those styles."

“I believe everyone has a longing for true love and that’s exactly what the song is about. I chose to go this route to show people there’s also an emotional and loving side to Reggie Peace,” Reggie explains.

Trou Met My is produced by Calvin Botha (DJ Darkness) and is Reggie’s 12th single. The music was so striking that Reggie simply had to write lyrics for the track.
