Jamming with Vinyl Selektas
The earoSOUL graffiti artists will be doing their thing as they and expo visitors get grooving to the tunes mixed up by vinyl DJ’s Triple Crown, C4, D-Form and realROZZANO.
Unlike what most people think, vinyl DJ’s do not strictly play old outdated music and some fairly recent tracks have been released on wax so there will definitely be a few surprises for those with a keen ear.

Lyriks 4 Cash Rap Battles
Rappers will be pleased to know that there will be a Lyriks4CashBattle with a R500 Cash Prize!
The format for the Rap Battles will be announced on the day.

BoE events are aimed at practitioners and fans of the hip hop culture as well as promoting and developing a sustainable local hip hop industry.
Most importantly uniting the huge hip hop community dispersed around the Western Cape and to satisfy the hungry hip hop consumer’s thirst for authentic local Hip Hop, R&B, Neo-Soul & Reggae music.

With the BoE Events Mission Statement that says ‘Unite/Network/Develop/Build’ we at Bruinou.com have aligned ourselves with the Best of Ekapa vision of building social cohesion through Hip Hop.
Hosting the event at Guga S’Thebe Cultural Centre in Langa as opposed to a venue in a former Coloured or former white area or in the middle of the city was a conscious decision aimed at building social cohesion by taking events into different spaces and different neighbourhoods in order to break down the societal barriers that were originally designed through Apartheid spatial planning.

Bruinou.com has on a few occasions partnered with Best of Ekapa on events and though we are not fully on board as a partner with this specific event, we proudly give them our full support.
