On Wednesday 23 August 2017, Hakkiesdraad Hartman and two of his fellow artists will be presenting a Dinner Showcase at the Jolly Carpe in Retreat Cape Town.
He will be accompanied by singer, songwriter Robert Rudeboi Lawrence and wordsmith NormanSmily. All three of these artists hail from George in the Garden Route and have been working together for 5 years. They have been writing and recording, developing artists and the music scene in George and the Southern Cape while maintaining strong community responsibility and social awareness.

Hakkiesdraad Hartman has a very unique brand of hip-hop and fuses it with stand-up comedy and spoken word poetry and his new production ‘met die liefde’ features  Rudeboi and NormanSmily.
Drawing on Khoi-Khoi and Bushmen heritage as its foundation, ‘met die liefde’ deals with politics, community awareness, social and personal issues hoping to provide solutions and motivation for the problems we all deal with. The music and the literature in the production appeals across generations, racial borders and has a strong cultural relevance.

Their belief is that LOVE is the only thing that can bring about the change that our country and the world is in such desperate need off. With strong spiritual content their music, spoken word and comedy is uplifting and ‘met die liefde’ promises to provide thought nurturing motivation. In one of his songs Hakkiesdraad Hartman says: If you are good at something, never do it for free, but do it to free your people’, and that is the intention of this production, to free those in the bondage of stress, poverty and social tensions.

Tickets for 'met die liefde' are R100 per person and includes dinner.
The show starts at 19H00 sharp.
