By now you probably all know that the SABC has implemented a 90% SA Music policy across all 18 SABC radio stations as of today. Great! ...but How do artists who want their music play-listed on radio go about it?

"This is a huge step in giving SA artists more exposure but it also resulted in stations being inundated with calls from local artists wanting to know how to submit their music" said Ebrahiem Inglis in a facebook post on the very first day that the 90% rule started taking effect.
He answers these and many other questions in his Studio Talk video series.

Ebrahiem, who is a noteworthy musician and composer, has been working at least two decades in various fields of the music and entertainment industry, and he is also a well-known radio presenter having worked at numerous radio stations over the last 12 years.
His radio persona known as The Inglisman during his tenure of 8 years at Goodhope FM left an indelible mark after it ended in 2015.
His positive impact on the local music industry became most notable for me through a weekly slot he had which featured unsigned artists performing their music live on air. For many of those artists it was their first encounter with radio and today some of the artists featured in those slots have fully-fledged careers in the music and entertainment industry.

Having numerous hit songs of his own, as well as production credits on numerous songs by other artists, Ebrahiem is a well of information for aspiring musicians, entertainers and those interestsed in the broadcasting industry.
I was fortunate enough a few years ago to sit in on a few sessions where he does presentations on different aspects of working in radio broadcasting as well as workshops on how artists should go about dealing with radio stations and  he is regarded by his peers as an expert in those areas. He continues to regilarly hosts courses and Professional Radio Presenter Workshops.

In this episode of his vlog he explains the process of SUBMITTING YOUR SONG TO RADIO.
Please note that it would be prudent that those of you who are aspiring musicians or those of you who have an interest in the music and entertainment industry also make a point of watching the other preceding episodes regarding music production and radio submissions in Studio Talk on his Inglisman Youtube channel.
