Now in its second year, The Ravens Independent Film Festival (RIFF) is an annual South African Township Film Festival held on the 24th September, National Heritage Day, which is also a public holiday.
The brainchild of Kane Adonis of Planet Hardcore, RIFF is an initiative with a mission to create awareness and promote South African artist, fashion, films, film makers and writers.

"We endeavour to highlight and focus on diversity, community, youth and education" said Kane Adonis in an earlier press statement.
"This is the second year we are hosting the RIFF and this year we will also introduce a music video category" Kane told Bruinou.com In a later conversation.
"Artist will also form part of panel discussions introducing their art to festival goers."
"RIFF17 will provide a platform for various film screenings, fashion exhibits, on ramp modelling, live dance, on stage performances, book exhibits and there will also various food vendors.
 

The film/music video/artist submissions form is available at the Ravensmead Library and at Eastside Clothing Store, Shop 48, Zevenwacht Mall.
Close of entries is 6PM Tuesday 19 September.

Event Details

RIFF is child friendly and family orientated, films are unrated and parental guidance is advised.
RIFF is independent, self funded and non profit based.
Monetary donations and/or services can be made to aid with venue and equipment hire.
A nominal admissions fee will be charged to aid with venue, equipment, services and reinvestment to ensure festival sustainability.
