Smooth R&B Sip ’n Paint, a first-of-its-kind event for the city, promises an experience that mixes music, art, and wellness into something both entertaining and restorative. Curated by radio personality and entertainer Stan Mars, the evening is designed to give people more than just a night out—it’s an opportunity to reconnect with creativity, unwind to R&B, and enjoy a healthy balance between fun and lifestyle.
The setting could not be more fitting. InuWell, one of Africa’s most cutting-edge wellness and lifestyle spaces, will host the event on Saturday, 4 October 2025. Known for its futuristic offerings—from VR Game Workouts and Cold Water Immersion therapy to Breathwork Immersive Rooms and sensory-reality pods—InuWell brings a whole new dimension to what’s usually expected from a “sip and paint” night.
Music Meets Creativity
What sets Smooth R&B Sip ’n Paint apart is how it reimagines the standard night of entertainment. Guests won’t just be painting on canvas and sipping their favorite drinks; they’ll be doing it against a backdrop of smooth R&B spun by some of Cape Town’s hottest DJs. Masoodah, Grant Lesch, Ashton Perenzee, and Uncle Sergus will keep the energy flowing from the early evening until midnight. Guiding the concept is Stan Mars, whose decades in entertainment shine through in this new venture.
“We wanted to create something for the more mature audience, people in their 30s, 40s, and 50s, who still love music and entertainment, but aren’t looking to stumble home at 3 a.m. anymore,” Mars explains. “Instead, this is about an afternoon-to-evening vibe, great music, creativity, and a soulful atmosphere that fits into a balanced lifestyle.”
Exclusive Atmosphere of InuWell Venue
Adding to the appeal is InuWell’s exclusive atmosphere and a fully stocked bar offering everything from ciders, beers, and champagne to soft drinks and water. Guests can choose between general access at R150 or a R300 package that includes paints, a canvas, and a welcome drink. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or haven’t picked up a paintbrush since school, the evening is designed for everyone.
“This isn’t just a sip-and-paint. It’s a fusion of smooth R&B, live DJs, and creative expression, hosted at a world-class venue,” Mars says. “It’s about creating a soulful, inclusive, and feel-good space where anyone, couples, colleagues, family, or friends can come together. No painting or singing skills required, just the desire to have a great time.”
Details of Debut Event, and Looking Beyond
Looking beyond the debut, Mars and his team are already preparing to expand the series. After its Waterfront launch, Smooth R&B Sip ’n Paint will be popping up at high-end venues in Johannesburg, Durban, Gqeberha, and again in Cape Town throughout 2026.
The inaugural event takes place on Saturday, 4 October 2025, from 4 p.m. until midnight at InuWell in the V&A Waterfront. Tickets are priced at R150 for general access and R300 for the package with paints, canvas, and a welcome drink.
