Expect to be rolling with laughter as you step into the hilariously quirky world of “Odd Man Out,” a solo stand-up show that is packed with Stuart’s trademark ‘fish out of water’ reflections.

Join Stuart as he navigates his most awkward moments as a suburban comedian in his 40’s, explores the absurd situations he often finds himself in, and embraces the oddities that make him unique.
With his sharp wit, relatable anecdotes, and a touch of magic to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, will he convince us that sometimes it’s okay to be the odd man out? Get ready for an evening of laughter, magic and a fresh perspective on what it means to stand out in a crowd.

ODD MAN OUT opens at the Pieter Toerien Studio Threatre, Montecasino in Johannesburg on 23 October and runs until 3 November with Ticket Prices ranging from R150 to R220.

Building a Succesful Career in Comedy

With a career in the entertainment industry that spans more than 25 years, Stuart Taylor remains one of SA’s top entertainment acts. He is a veteran of the industry with varied expertise both in front of the public as well as behind the scenes.
Even though Stuart holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Stellenbosch University, his love for the creative arts led him to pursue a full-time career in entertainment once he obtained his BSc.

The public success of his theatre shows opened doors to him becoming the host of the hit SABC travel show, Going Nowhere Slowly in 2003, which ran over 7 seasons.

As a founding member of the Cape Comedy Collective in 1999, Stuart was at the forefront of establishing the art of stand-up comedy as a bona fide addition to the SA live entertainment landscape. This allowed him to cut his teeth in the Cape Town comedy circuit before venturing into producing his solo shows.

Internationally, he has performed to critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Berlin International Comedy Festival, New Zealand International Comedy Festival and the Montreux Comedy Festival in Switzerland.

Stuart Taylor is also an Author

Locally, he has performed throughout most of SA having written, produced and performed 16 solo shows. Some of these solo performances have scooped various awards including the prestigious Ovation Award and Overall Best Comedy award at the National Arts Festival, and the Show Time Award for best solo performance. The success of his solo show, Learner Husband, led Stuart Taylor to write the best-selling comedy book of the same name, which was launched in 2013 with a major national campaign.

Stuart Taylor’s most succesful show to date has led to him writing the book ‘Learner Husband – A Handy Guide for Avoiding Collisions with Your Wife’

His first decade in the industry gave Stuart enough expertise to launch Taylor Made Productions in 2005, which specialises in the production of live stage events and TV broadcast productions.
